Scholarship Fund Grants

The North Georgia Community Foundation administers a number of scholarships established by individual donors and organizations who wish to invest in the future by helping deserving students pursue higher education.  Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibilty criteria, and awards vary in size depending on the amount available in each particular fund. Not all scholarships are available or awarded on an annual basis.  

2018 Scholarship Application Procedures

The 2018 scholarship cycle is now open. To access the scholarships Apply Now through March 15, 2018 at 5:00 PM.  Applicants must register on our web portal and select 'Scholarship Applicant' from the Portal Access list before accessing the scholarship applications.

Please note: most scholarship applications are tied to the Common Scholarship Application. When reviewing the list below, the ones tied to this application will have a *.  If you meet the criteria for a scholarship, then after filling out the Common Scholarship Application, it will generate the scholarships you are eligible for.  If you are eligible for multiple scholarships, you will not have to fill out the same basic information more than one time. Most individual funds will have one additional page of required questions, essays or attachments. When you complete the additional page per scholarship, you will have submitted an application for each fund. Applications without the addendum page are not complete and will not be accepted.

NGCF Board of Directors, staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.  Scholarship selection committee members and their immediate family members are also prohibited from applying.

Scholarship Funds Eligibility

"547" John E. McGlamry Memorial Scholarship*
For graduating high school seniors who are the children of active or retired Georgia State Troopers.

Myron Breakstone Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Lumpkin County High School.

William T. Carlisle Memorial Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Hall County and Gainesville City public and private schools who have demonstrated financial need.

Coleman, Chambers & Rogers Scholarship
For current and active members of the Hall County Board of Realtors and their family members. Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or students currently enrolled in college or vocational school. This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application.

David (DJ) Wright Davenport Scholarship*
For North Hall High School graduating seniors.

C.W. Davis Scholarship
For Hall County teachers pursuing advanced degrees. This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application.

Billy Ellis Memorial Scholarship*
For Johnson High School graduating seniors.

Jo Farr Scholarship*
For Gainesville High School graduating seniors.

Myrtle W. Figueras Scholarship*
For Gainesville High School graduating seniors.

Judge Richard S. (Stan) Gault Education Scholarship
For non-traditional students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree whose primary residence is in Forsyth County, Ga.  This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application. This application opens on Monday, January 22.

Tommy Aaron/Charlie Aaron Foundation Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Hall County and Gainesville City public schools.

Holcomb Family Education Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Hall County and Gainesville City public schools and GED recipients.

Gail Ingram Scholarship*
For graduating seniors from Banks, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin and White counties.

The Kiwanis Club of Gainesville Charles J. Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Award
Awards several annual scholarships for the youth art program of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club.  This fund is not included in our online application process. Visit the Gainesville Kiwanis Club Web site for more information and applications.

Lake Rabun Scholarship
For graduating seniors at Rabun County High School and Rabun-Gap Nacoochee School.  This fund is not included in our online application process. Please contact your school counselor for more information and the application.

Lambert Lacrosse Scholarship
For graduating seniors at Lambert High School who have participated on either the boys or girls lacrosse team for at least one season.  This scholarship application will open on March 12, 2018. This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application.

Chuck Massey Memorial Scholarship*
For North Hall High School graduating seniors.

Jenny Melton Scholarship*
For graduating seniors from West Hall and Flowery Branch High Schools and for children of members of IAEE Atlanta SE Chapter.

Charles Black Construction Company, Inc. Scholarship*
For graduating seniors from various public high schools.  Eligible high schools are determined each year. Eligible high schools for 2018 scholarship applications online are the following: Banks County High School, Commerce City High School, Franklin County High School, Hart County High School, Madison County High School, Rabun County High School, Towns County High Scool, White County High School, and Gilmer High School.

Lance Roland Memorial Scholarship*
For Gainesville High School graduating seniors.

Florence and Jack Sims Memorial Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at public or private high schools located in Hall County.

Jim and Dee Snow Optimist Scholarship*
For graduating seniors in the Hall County and Gainesville City School Systems.

TD Automotive Compressor Georgia Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Jackson County (Ga.) public high schools.

TD Automotive Compressor Georgia Scholarship*
For TD Automotive Compressor Georgia associates' family members.

Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America (TICA) Scholarship
For graduating seniors at Jackson County (Ga.) public high schools. This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application.

Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America (TICA) Scholarship
For TICA associates' family members. This scholarship is a separate application from the common scholarship application.

Flo Towson Scholarship*
For graduating seniors in Hall county who plan to pursue higher education in the field of music.

Jody Tucker Scholarship*
For Gainesville High School graduating seniors.

Pam Ware Scholarship*
For graduating senior theater students at Gainesville High School.

The Patrick Kelley Band Scholarship*
For senior Gainesville High School band or auxiliary members. 

The Patrick Kelley Memorial Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Hall County and Gainesville City Schools.

Bill Wilson Scholarship*
For Gainesville High School graduating seniors.

Gainesville Symphony Orchestra Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at public, private or homeschools in Hall County. Applicants must reside in Hall County.

Don and Debbie Golden Scholarship*
For graduating seniors in Hall County. 

Sheepdog of the Year Scholarship*
For Lambert High School graduating seniors.

The Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Fannin County High School.

Donald Moss Scholarship*
For graduating seniors in Dawson County.

GHS Class of '64 Scholarship*
For graduating seniors at Gainesville High School

Coleman, Chambers & Rogers First Responders College Scholarship*
For current and active members of the First Responders/EMS workers, their children and grandchildren, for Gainesville, all municipalities and Hall County, Georgia
