Nonprofit Capacity Building and Technical Assistance

The Community Foundation values supporting nonprofit capacity building efforts and believes it is an important investment in our community.  Partnering with nonprofits on capacity building and technical assistance helps to strengthen local nonprofits so they can better achieve their missions and ultimately improve the quality of life in our region.

Lunch & Learns

Lunch & Learn programs are designed to help you learn more about issues facing nonprofits and to provide an opportunity to network with other nonprofit leaders. Lunch & Learns will be held the third Thursday every other month.  All sessions will be at the Community Foundation from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Registration is $20 and includes lunch and drinks.

February 22 | Fundamentals of Fundraising

This class will be an overview of fundraising from beginning to end. It will be great any level fundraiser, from basic to experienced.


The Foundation holds events throughout the year for nonprofits both as training opportunities and as a time for networking with others.  As workshops are scheduled, information about them will be posted.

Nonprofit Office Space

The Foundation provides affordable office space to nonprofit organizations.  Rent includes use of common meeting rooms, internet service, discounted telephone service, utilities, maintenance and repair.

Meeting Space

Located in downtown Gainesville, the Foundation office has meeting space that is available to nonprofit organizations and will accommodate up to 25 people. Spaces are available between 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, free of charge.

E-mail Newsletter

The Foundation periodically sends an e-newsletter providing field-specific information, including nonprofit job postings.  Foundation grant cycles and events are also announced via the e-newsletter.  To receive our newsletter on what’s happening at the Foundation and in the nonprofit sector, complete this form.
